The history of Noritake is the history of western-style tableware in Japan.With the aspiration to make beautiful, highly decorativeporcelain tableware, Noritake's history began. Ichizaemon Morimura and his peers, exporters of Japanese antiques and miscellaneous goods, were impressed by the beautifully handpainted European chinaware at the Paris World Exposition of 1889. They were determined to produce equally exquisite chinaware in Japan. In 1904, a large-scale modern factory was built in Japan to research tableware. After much trial and error, in 1914 they succeeded in manufacturing the first dinner tableware sets in Japan. The made-in-Japan tableware was, at first, exported primarily to the United States. With the growing appreciation of this overseas market, the brand continued to flourish and soon became known worldwide as "Noritake China". Ever since, Noritake's tableware and porcelain products have been cherished bycustomers throughout the world for its world class quality, meticulous design and Japanese aesthetic.昭和40年頃の素焼窯ノリタケの歴史は、日本の洋食器の歴史。白く、美しく、精緻な洋食器を、この日本でつくりたいー。貿易商として日本の骨董や雑貨を輸出していた森村市左衛門らが、パリ万国博覧会（1889年）で美しく絵付けされたヨーロッパの磁器を目の当たりにし、心に固く誓ったことからノリタケの歴史は始まりました。1904年、近代的で大規模な工場を建設し、洋食器の研究を開始。試行錯誤ののち、1914年、日本で初めてディナーセットの製造に成功。米国を中心に海外へ輸出された日本製の洋食器は大好評を博し、やがて「ノリタケチャイナ」の名で、世界に知られるブランドへと成長を遂げました。以来、ノリタケの洋食器や陶磁器製品は、日本の美意識を活かした繊細なデザイン、世界最高レベルの品質と品格によって、世界中でご愛用いただいています。SINCE 1904
